Word Bank Opportunity: $180M Water in Agriculture Project in Morocco

The goal: build resilient water-for-agriculture system, improve on-farm irrigation and increase access to advisory services

The World Bank* has approved $180M for a “Resilient and Sustainable Water in Agriculture” Project in Morocco. It was approved in March 2022 and will close in June 2028.

  

The project development objectives (PDO) are to: (i) enhance the governance of water in agriculture ; (ii) improve quality of Irrigation services; (iii) increase access to advisory services and to modern on-farm irrigation technologies in the Project Areas.

 

Consultation services as to “modernization of irrigation and drainage” are open for bid for international firms and estimated at $1.6M.

 

Implementing Agency: Morocco Ministry of Agriculture - Directorate of Irrigation.
